Definition of Services
Monthly Consulting: Each month we’ll connect on a call to discuss your podcast. Things that 38 Sounds has done that works well, and things that can be improved. We can discuss marketing strategies and how to help increase listenership. Top package includes weekly calls and access to instant messaging for quicker response times.
Audio Editing: I’ll edit down your podcast to a range of 30 mins to 60 mins. If your podcast submission is longer than 90 minutes and requires editing down to 60 minutes, an additional fee of $10 per 15 minutes will be invoiced and paid before the release of the episode.
Audio Mastering: I will ensure that the audio is as crisp as I can make it. If you have separate tracks for each host, I can ensure that they are mixed to be at consistent levels and each host sounds great. Likewise, I’ll remove as much background noise as possible.
Audio Insertion: Most shows will have an intro and outro, and some will have sponsors! Audio Insertion guarantees that these clips will be included in your show and volume matched.
IM Access: For this, I hand out my personal Google Hangouts account so we can stay in touch if you have any questions or concerns regarding your podcast and strategy.
Revisions: Your edit may not be exactly how you want it, and that’s ok! If your plan includes a revision, simply provide me with exact notes on what you need and I’ll make the changes for you ASAP. I may have to follow up with a call to confirm.
Clipping: Promoting your podcast is key, and I’ll help take care of that. When you provide me the exact start and end points of clips you want, I’ll be sure to export those into separate MP3s, all mixed and mastered for use in your social media strategy.
Graphic Design: You may already have an imaging solution, and that’s cool! If not, I can help in logo creation and the creation of cover art for your episode’s release, your blog/CMS and social media images.
ID3 Tagging: Not everybody listens to their podcasts on the same device or the same app. By properly ID3 tagging your files, we can ensure that your brand and messaging stay on point across any device or platform!
38Sounds Podcast Promotion: For each episode, we’ll make a post on our social media profiles linking to your podcast episode on our page. On Twitter, we’ll @ your account. For higher plans, we can link either to your post or podcast feed.
How Does it Work?
First and foremost, we’ll chat about your podcast. Not only will I get a better understanding of your podcasting goals, I also want to spend time talking with the host(s) to understand their speaking patterns. I want to pick up on their mannerisms, that way during editing I’m able to create the most natural voice of your host(s).
Once we’re settled, you record your first episode and place it in the designated Dropbox folder no later than 72 hours prior to your expected release date.
Once received, I’ll work on your podcast and place the completed file back in the Dropbox folder within 48 hours, giving you enough time to review and distribute your work.
What If I Need a Rush?
I get it, sometimes schedules change, so I want to be as flexible as possible.
I do offer rush services but they do come with a charge of $25/hr with a minimum 1 hour charge. After that, charges are billed in 30 minute increments.
If you release your podcast on a Wednesday, but don’t get it to me until the Tuesday before, and it takes me 2.75 hours to edit and master your episode, you would be billed an additional 2.5 hours at $25/hr.
All rush invoices are due within 7 business days of receipt.
Do I Need A Podcast Editing Service?
While some podcasters choose to leave their recordings unedited & unmixed, others tackle the editing or mixing themselves. However, many of the top podcasters choose to outsource this task to others who are a bit more experienced.
If you are unsure whether an investment in editing services is beneficial or not, here are a few things to consider.
Is your time or your money most valuable to you?
Since it may take 5-8 hours to edit a typical episode, many podcasters opt to bring in someone else who can dedicate the time they cannot.
Do you have the capability to edit your podcast well?
While there are many editing tools available, many people simply do not have the know-how to handle the editing process effectively.
It’s a tragedy when bad audio quality negatively affects the quality message of your podcast. That’s why I’m here to help!
While my professional podcast editing service may not be for everyone, I want to ensure you that the services I offer are insanely beneficial & that I am the right fit for your team.
